Beautifully decorated and well appointed boutique hotel close to Oxford’s city centre and university. A beautifully decorated spacious room that reflected the stately atmosphere of Oxford. It was well appointed with comfortable beds and a big modern bathroom. It was in a quiet area and within walking distance of the university and city centre. Good breakfast and parking available on site.

Little haven with great customer service. The customer service is exceptional. I lost my card wallet on the day I was checking out – with my train ticket home, bank card, drivers licence (everything!). As it was a Sunday and the branches of my bank were closed, there was no way for me to get cash to get home. The hotel manager, Ally, went above and beyond to assist me to ensure I got some cash to get home – she even travelled from the hotel with my bag to meet me in the city centre so that we could sort it out together. Without her help in accessing some cash I would have been stuck – she really went above and beyond and was a super kind and friendly host. In addition to this, the hotel is charming – the decor is sympathetic to the style of the building. My room was very comfortable (I sunk peacefully into the bed! And the bathroom has been renovated to a high standard) and most importantly for me, I was not disturbed by any outside noise. They pay good attention to detail – tea tray, level of cleanliness etc. Many thanks for a lovely stay – I will certainly be back!

St Margaret’s Guest House was exactly what my family and I imagined an old fashion English house would look like. There were high ceilings with picture rails and big bay windows to let in plenty of light. The best feature is the stained glass window in the hall, the colours were amazing. With helpful staff and modern facilities it had everything that our family needed to make our first trip to Oxford unforgettable.

My wife and I stayed at the Guest House on a visit to Oxford in mid-July. We were very pleased with our stay. The guest house is in a quiet road opposite St Hugh’s College so there was no traffic disturbance in the evening which meant we had a good night sleep. With just a pleasant 25 minute walk to St Giles or a 10 minute walk to the Cherwell Boat House, our favourite restaurant, the location was brilliant.

Calm and quiet place with a reasonable price and clean rooms. It’s only a short walk away from city centre.
